#farmlife

I made it! It took 7 hours of cycling, interspersed with walking my bike up hills, and sitting on the side of the road aggressively maintaining eye contact with drivers.
Yet here I am, enjoying some raspberry fro-goat-yo on my break before feeding time. I've only been at Wookey Farm 2 days, and although I have made many mistakes, I've managed to hide most of them and I really feel like part of the team. In this post I'm going to introduce you to my new friends.

Manatsu is japanese and leaves here on Saturday. She calls me Ellie-San, loves children and spent all of yesterday singing 'fly me to the moon'.

Stina is an exceptionally competent young German woman who I share a caravan with (I will move into Manatsu's caravan when she leaves). She grew up near a goat farm which could explain why she doesn't actually like goats cheese.

Sarah and Ian are the couple who own the farm. They work very hard and are funny, generous and interesting.

Ali and Ed are their boys, around 8 and 5. It's the school holidays so they spend most of their time making loud noises, trying to obtain sweets and being told off. They are very entertaining.

Mr Pickles is a sulky donkey with an impressive pout. Every time the goats are fed their pellets he manages to look deeply insulted that he only gets hay.

Wonkey is one of the goats who live in the field and he tends to seize any opportunity to lean heavily against my legs.

Priddy is a beautiful little dog, the darling of everyone, wild, friendly, with a tendancy to lick old disposable barbeques that she finds in the bin.

Bubbles is the happiest pig in the world.

Hopefully I'll have some interesting stories and photos to post over the next few weeks, I haven't taken many pictures yet. Thanks everyone for your enthusiasm, support and love.
